Injury status guide
Leagues report injuries in different ways. Daily IL maps them to the seven statuses below. On game lists, the Out count includes Out, Injured list and Suspended; the Doubtful count includes Doubtful and Questionable.
| Label | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Out | Confirmed to miss this game |
| Doubtful | Announced or reported as unlikely to play |
| Questionable | Not yet decided, e.g. a game-time decision |
| Probable | Was injured but expected to play |
| Injured list (IL) | On the league’s injured list (IL/IR) or removed from the active roster due to injury |
| Suspended | Unavailable because of a ban or accumulated cards |
| Returned | Recently activated from the injured list or back from injury |
Other labels
- No injuries: the sources we checked report no injuries or absences for that team.
- Injury info unavailable: we could not confirm that team’s injury news. This is not the same as “No injuries”.
- Time TBD: the date is set but the start time has not been announced.
- Expected return: the return timeline given by the club or media; it may change.
Differences by league
- Baseball (KBO, NPB, MLB): based on the injured-list system and official roster moves. Players removed for non-injury reasons (rest, conditioning) are noted under roster notes instead.
- Football (soccer): there is no official injured list, so we rely on manager press conferences, club statements and major media. National-team call-ups and suspensions are listed too.
- Basketball, hockey, American football (NBA, NHL, NFL): official league injury report designations are mapped to the seven statuses above.
